Nana's Sweet Potatoes

Liliana can eat with the best of the them! I weighed her today, 19 pounds. The little chunker, but she's my chunker...cute as can be! :) But...there are few select times that she does the shake & gag with some foods. It's cute and funny...one of those things we shouldn't find cute and funny, but we do.


So my mom made Liliana some sweet potatoes and packaged them up and we froze them. About 2 weeks ago, my mom was going to watch her & I took the sweet potatoes for her to give Liliana. My mom said she did not like them. She did her little routine...she gets this whole body shake thing, sort of like a little chill. Then she'll silently gag - it's so cute you want to keep giving her the food. Terrible, I know.

Anyway, I finally got around to giving her sweet potatoes today - it went over fairly well. There was very little shaking and gagging...just a few faces and spitting some of it back out once it was in her mouth. But, I did catch a little on video. It's a little long - but if you watch closely - you will see. Although it is by no means to the extent she normally does it - I still find it funny!

At around 17 seconds you will see a slight gag. Then she has to really think about taking the next bite. She goes cross-eyed looking at the spoon. And around 1:14 she does her little shake. And she always hits the highchair, it sounds a lot louder than it actually is! :)
